Taurus Engineering Acquires Innovative Mold
On May 1, 2008, Taurus Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. (TEAM) acquired Innovative Mold, Inc. Building upon the excellent reputation that Kevin Coon and the Innovative Mold organization had established, the positive changes associated with this acquisition will go far to provide improved service to our customers. The new ownership team of John Philipsen and Vincent Pope will complement prototyping and short-run plastic injection molding by offering our customers additional services geared to reduce costs, increase value, and streamline the entire concept-to-market process. Utilizing designs, tooling, and developed processing capabilities, and leveraging the knowledge gained through the project prototyping phase, customers benefit from TEAMs ability to offer production tooling and manufacturing resources.
John Philipsen, Chief Operations Officer, has over twenty-five years experience in plastic injection molding, post molding assembly and packaging processing, and contract manufacturing. Vincent Pope, Chief Executive Officer, has over twenty years of quality assurance and regulatory affairs experience, strategic quality planning, and information systems integration. Both John and Vincent believe that the success of any organization is directly related to the success of its stakeholders, most importantly its customers.
Since 1985, Innovative Mold has been a leader in plastic injection molding, specializing in prototype and short-run production. Partnering with OEMs, inventors and designers, Innovatives capable design and processing engineers have worked with customers to reduce costs, keep projects moving and completed on time, and assured component design for manufacturability. Ultimately, these partnerships make for a successful transition from concept, through R&D, to the market, and into the hands of the end-user.
As Kevin will continue to work with design engineers and project managers, and oversee TEAM mold design and build activities, expect to see the same level of commitment historically experienced by our customers. Addressing customer requests for additional services, TEAM is implementing recognized quality management systems (ISO 9001 & ISO 13485), greatly expanding its post molding assembly and packaging capabilities, and offering controlled environment manufacturing. The TEAM organization looks forward to growing our organizations together through exciting experiences and positive relationships.
